92the lux score explained
Fullerton Bay is a stunning designer hotel built completely over water in renowned Marina Bay. What makes this hotel perfect? Location, views, unique design by Andre Fu, beautifully furnished new rooms, great service.
Accommodation
Fullerton Bay is only a small hotel, only 100 rooms, all with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water. The rooms are decorated in impeccable style with a lot of attention to detail – velvet sofas, mirror inlays, wood panelling, heavy curtains – everything speaks of quality and luxury.
Bathrooms are beautiful too with floor to ceiling marble, sexy window from the bath to the bedroom, TV built in the mirror and the most plush bathrobes I’ve seen in the hotels todate.
In-room technology is also worth mentioning with Handy phones allowing guests to make complimentary overseas calls to 10 countries including US, UK and Australia, ipad, laptop and an excellent sound system. Elegant marble-topped bedside tables are not only visually pleasing but functional, with a built-in draw containing all room lights’ and curtain controls. Very easy to navigate.
Of course the fact that the opening General Manager Cavalieri Giovanni Vitterale is an Italian man with European taste and desire for perfection helps a lot. Fullerton Bay is his baby and even small touches like Bottega Veneta toiletries make me feel a little bit Italian.
When you make a reservation try to request a room facing Marina Bay Sands, rather then one of the rooms on the side with right wing being the least picturesque.
There are only 6 suites in the hotel so if true luxury is the way you like to travel, request one of the Theme Suites. They are bigger in size, offer a separate bedroom and living room, and are decorated with silk panel walls and art pieces that signify the era that the Suites depicts.
Facilities
Fullerton Bay has one of the best pools in Singapore – rooftop lux retreat with sensational views as far as the eye can see. Choose from sunny deckchairs in the water or shady cabanas, indulge in a light lunch poolside or pose for selfies by the glass pool edge.
Active travellers can go for a run on the esplanade or pop into the gym for a workout in the air-conditioning.
For Spa lovers there is a beautiful spa in the sister hotel, Fullerton Hotel, 5 minutes walk away from Fullerton Bay.
The Fullerton Spa Signature Massage is pure perfection for those who need a little extra help after a long haul flight or a busy week. Hotel offers a spa discount card inserted into your key folder – look out for the special offers.
Dining
Fullerton Bay is famous in Singapore for its high tea that runs from 12pm-7pm and offers a gorgeous selection of tiered cakes and finger sandwiches with accompanying tea or coffee. It is truly a social experience with a view.
For dinner there is a French Brasserie and for authentic Cantonese experience try Jade Restaurant. Peking Duck & Lobster 6 course set menu is a must try.
