Location

Sheraton Mirage is located 5 min away from the centre of Port Douglas and 1 hour from Cairns airport. It’s location on pristine Four Mile Beach is superb. Even though you are away from the hustle and bustle of Macrossan Street, you can easily walk to town on the beach. A leisurely stroll will take you no more than 30 minutes.

Accommodation

For families look no further than Villas; they come in two-, three- and four-bedroom configuration. When making a booking request a newly renovated one for maximum benefit.

Four couples the new Lagoon Studio Suites are perfect – they offer 52 square meters of bright and modern space, comfortable king size beds, crispy linen and large windows looking over the lagoon. We love the pool suites with direct access to the swimming pools. What a nice way to wake up with a dip in the refreshing pool.

Dining

Breakfast are served indoors and outdoors and offer a great tropical selection of yummy food. We especially enjoyed sitting out on a shaded terrace and taking our time sipping a coffee and watching the world go by.

For lunch most people grab a snack from a poolside café that offers simple pizzas, salads and burgers.

For dinner there are is a buffet offering or a delicious a la carte menu featuring seafood, steaks or Asian inspired favourites like Nasi Goreng or Coconut Chicken.

I saw the resort prior to the finishing touches being applied and there was still some construction happening around the resort. I am looking forward to seeing the finalized renovation of the cabanas, penthouse suites and common areas.

Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas is a fantastic new offering to Australian families looking for a luxurious getaway in the school holidays. April and June holidays are the best time to visit.
